The #EndSARS Protest, a campaign against police brutality especially by a notorious unit of the Nigerian police know as the Special armed robbery squad yesterday, earned the number 1 spot on worldwide trends on twitter.
Garnering over 10 million tweets and with several celebrities around the globe joining protesters asking for the ban of SARS, citing the victimisation, extortion and deaths the police unit has been responsible for.
Nigerians in the diaspora including the US, United Kingdom, Canada, UAE and South Africa have also joined the campaign with Nigeria celebrities such as Falz, Runtown, Mr Macoroni and many other influences leading protests in Lagos and other states in the country.
Protests are still going on in many states countries with more planned by citizens and activists in the diaspora.
